Benevolence

Although residents enter be.group communities with the resources deemed necessary to sustain them throughout their lives, sometimes unforeseen changes in circumstances disrupt the most careful management and preparations. A resident may find his or her assets depleted, perhaps because of unanticipated health issues that require costly medical care. Occasionally residents run into financial difficulties or fall victim to financial malfeasance or fraud.

Whatever the circumstances, it can be devastating—both for the individual and for fellow residents—when someone lacks the resources to continue living in a community. In these situations, people can find themselves facing severely limited life options, often when they’re most vulnerable. What’s more, the entire community faces the potential loss of a cherished friend and neighbor.

To ensure support for residents who, through no fault of their own, can no longer afford to remain in our communities, be.group foundation manages and distributes assistance from the Benevolence Fund. Available to all eligible residents with demonstrated financial need, the fund offers protection from a potentially devastating event and at the same time preserves the integrity of the community. It’s the ultimate example of our residents’ commitment to supporting one another—a longstanding hallmark of be.group and its communities.

We take pride in the fact that no resident has ever had to leave one of our communities because of financial difficulties. However, our ability to provide the necessary assistance would be limited without philanthropic support. The Benevolence Fund enables us to provide help where it’s needed without drawing on resources earmarked for broader community needs.

Capital Projects

The Capital Improvement Fund supports equipment purchases, service enhancements and facility renovation and expansion programs—all aimed at improving the quality of life for current and future be.group community residents. When major renovation and construction projects are in the planning stages, the foundation may launch a capital fund-raising campaign to solicit funds. Often these projects include opportunities for recognizing donors by name.

Programs and Services

One of the foundation’s primary goals is to deliver innovative programs and services that promote healthy living and ensure outstanding care. Whether we’re striving to prevent falls, improve cognitive and physical fitness or enhance dementia care, we direct charitable donations to improvements that will benefit everyone in our communities.
